Greenough, Mary “Jean”

Greenough, Mary “Jean” – Age 87, Dartmouth, went home February 27, 2015, to be with her Saviour, Jesus Christ. She was a daughter of the late George and Ida May (Fisher) Day. Jean worked at many different jobs during her life, and retired from filling catalogue orders at Sears. She enjoyed gardening and won many ribbons for her beautiful flowers. Driving through the countryside, seeing the new leaves, blossoms and flowers in the spring, the colored leaves in the fall, and looking for wildlife, especially deer, were some of the pleasures she enjoyed. She loved her pets, both dogs and cats.

Surviving are her daughter, Gloria Jean Kuhn and son-in-law, Lloyd Kuhn, Dartmouth; sisters-in-law, Ann Day (George), and Gladys Day (Lloyd); numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Douglas Bruce Greenough; son, Douglas John, in infancy; brothers, Lawrence, John, Clyde, George, Lloyd; sister, June.

In keeping with her wishes, there will be no service. She simply desired that her remains be taken to the Musquodoboit Valley to be laid to rest next to her husband and close to her mother and grandparents. Memorial donations may be made to Bide-A-While Animal Shelter.

Arrangements are under the direction of Arimathea Funeral Cooperative, Upper Musquodoboit.

The family wishes to thank Dr. Sullivan and Dr. Nadeem, and all the TAVI team at QEII Health Sciences Centre in Halifax. You are the best!

“Until we meet again.”
