Power, Monica Isabel – 1928-2015, of Stewiacke, and formerly of Westmount, Cape Breton, passed away April 28, 2015, at the age of 86, in Colchester East Hants Health Centre, Truro. Born in Westmount, she was a daughter of the late Catherine Sarah (MacDonald) and John L. MacLellan. Monica is survived by daughters, Theresa Power, Gail Alexander, both of Halifax; Debbie (Joe) DeLazzer, Stewiacke; granddaughters, Terri Lee (Ewan) MacLeod and their son, Alex; Derina DeLazzer; grandson, Dustin DeLazzer. She was predeceased by sister, Mary (Prendergast) (Babcock) Woodworth; brothers, James, Jerome, Daniel, John, and Gus.
Cremation has taken place under the direction of Arimathea Funeral Cooperative, Upper Musquodoboit. There will be no visitation at the request of the family. Interment will be at a later date in Pine Grove Cemetery, Stewiacke East. Special thanks to the doctors and nurses of Colchester East Hants Health Centre. Donations may be made to SPCA.
