Jackson, June B.

Jackson, June B. – Age 66, of Dartmouth, passed away peacefully, in V.G. Site, QEII, Halifax, with family by her side, on August 9, 2015. Born in Dartmouth, on November 8, 1948, she was a daughter of the late Charles and Elsie Ritchie, and grew up with 15 siblings on the family farm in Middle Musquodoboit. June’s greatest joy was spending time with her family, especially her beautiful grandchildren and great-grandchild. June loved to play cards with her friends and enjoyed her bowling league. She was an avid cook and baker, sometimes using tips from her favourite cooking show to spice up her own recipes. June was a kid at heart, always the life of the party, and her infectious laugh could be heard filling the room at any gathering she attended. June will be remembered for her kind heart and generous nature, always willing to lend a helping hand where it was needed, and was always gracious and loving.

She is survived by her loving husband of 44 years, Ricky; son, Rick (Christina); daughter, Erica; grandchildren, Haily, Autumn, Zachary, Zoe; great-granddaughter, Britton; siblings, Mildred DeMont (Calvin), Hilda Cole (Bob), Bertha Graham (Harry), David Ritchie (Elaine); sisters-in-law, Bula, Gloria, Marg, Nancy, Thelma; brother-in-law, Wayne; as well as many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by brothers, Kenny, Raymond, Roy, Rod, Murray (Mildred), Gerald, Ronnie (Audrey), Eric (Ann); sisters, Betty Redleader (Floyd), Doris Ralph (Clayton), and Mary Purdy.
