Eric Wayne “Rick” Jackson

Jackson, Eric Wayne “Rick” – Age 72, Upper Stewiacke, beloved husband, father and grandfather, passed away peacefully in Colchester East Hants Health Centre, Truro, on April 10, 2017.

Rick loved to fish and hunt but his passion was gardening. He will always be remembered for his Scarlett Runner Bean House, and the baked beans he made with them. He worked in construction for many years, but his best working years were when he drove the school bus after moving to the farm in Upper Stewiacke.

He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Colleene (Feener); sons, Eric Jr., Moncton; Edward (Veronica), Truro; William (Emily), Middle Musquodoboit; his grandchildren, who were his pride and joy, Tara, Dartmouth; Tasha, Vancouver; Erica, Truro; Sam, Brookfield; sister, Lynn MacEachern, Milford; brothers, William, Milford; Laurie, Powassin, Ont.; Clyde, Waverley; Peter, Enfield; special sister-in-law, Sandra Jackson; numerous nieces and nephews; grand and great-grand nieces and nephews; and all the young people in his life as the result of his involvement with the 4-H program and the students he bussed to and from school. He was predeceased by his parents, Edward and Catherine (Foster) Jackson; brothers, James and Paul; nephews, Michael and Timmy; childhood “best buddy,” Roger Feener; and his “special little girl” Laverne (Feener) Copage.

Visitation will be Wednesday, from 7-8:30 p.m., and a celebration of Rick’s life will be held on Thursday, at 2 p.m., both in Upper Stewiacke United Church, Marty Clark-Ettinger officiating. Burial will be at a later date in Riverside Cemetery, Upper Stewiacke. Memorial donations may be made to Upper Stewiacke-Springside United Church, 4-H Nova Scotia in trust for Colchester County 4-H Council, or Colchester East Hants Health Foundation.
