Wanda Hope (Singer) Weir

Weir (Singer), Wanda Hope – It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our loving, caring mother and grandmother, Wanda, age 59 of North Salem, on May 26, 2017, in Colchester East Hants Health Centre, Truro. Born in Georgefield, she was a daughter of the late Ralph and Eleanor (Waller) Singer.

Wanda raised four daughters who were her pride and joy, and also had four grandsons and one granddaughter who were the light of her life. Mum had a huge heart and was always helping others. She enjoyed volunteering, baking and cooking for everyone she knew, gardening and yard sales. Making wreaths in the fall was also something she truly enjoyed. In more recent years, she loved spending as much time as possible with her grandchildren and her special little guy, Adrian.

Surviving are her daughters, Brenda Moore (Carl) and grandchildren, Brent, Parker and Frankie; Melanie Wilson (Robert) and grandson, Teddy; Colleen Weir (Mark) and grandson, Henry; Celia Weir (Brennon); former husband and father of her daughters, Frank Weir; brother, Tom (Cheryl); treasured mother-in-law, Dorothy Weir; sister-in-law, Jeanette Stephens; brother-in-law, Howard Weir; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She was predeceased by sister, Linda.

Cremation has taken place under the direction of Arimathea Funeral Cooperative, Upper Musquodoboit. No visitation or funeral by request. A Celebration of Life will be held in Royal Canadian Legion Branch No. 111, Shubenacadie, at 2 p.m. on Sunday, June 11. In lieu of flowers, please spend time with your family or you may make a donation to Canadian Cancer Society.
