Leda Violet (Bremner) Graham

Graham (Bremner), Leda Violet – Age 96, of Dartmouth, passed away peacefully July 25, 2017, surrounded by family. She was the eldest of six children born to the late Rufus and Bessie (Miller) Bremner. She lived all her life in Dartmouth.

Leda was a charter member of the Honourable Joseph Howe Chapter, Order of the Eastern Star and served as Worthy Matron in 1959, and was presently a member of Queen Esther Chapter. She received her 60-year jewel of the Order in 2007.

Surviving are daughter, Sharon (Kevin) McGrath; son-in-law, Donald Rix; sisters, Joyce Taylor and Vivian Bremner; sister-in-law, Shirley Bremner; grandchildren, Debbie Brothers and her son Ryan, and his daughter Ava; Dwayne (Tara) and their children Brooklynn and Addison McGrath; Nancy Rix; Ronnie (Suzanne) Rix and their children Grace, Jack, Thomas and Kate; Darrin (Clarissa) Rix and their children Evan and Bailey; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Douglas “Doug”, in 1991; daughter, Elizabeth “Betty” Rix, in 2016; brothers, Gilbert and Allen; sister, Ruth; sister-in-law, Judy.

Cremation has taken place. No visitation by request. Funeral will be Tuesday, August 1, at 2 p.m., in Calvin United Church, Lawrencetown, Rev. Kym Burke-Cole officiating. A reception will follow downstairs in the church. Burial will be at a later date. Donations in Leda’s memory may be made to Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia or a charity of choice.

Arrangements are under the direction of Arimathea Funeral Cooperative, Upper Musquodoboit.
