Leonard "Lennie" Earl Dean

Dean, Leonard Earl “Lennie”– Age 68, of Woodside, Dean, passed away peacefully on September 8, 2017, in Musquodoboit Valley Memorial Hospital, Middle Musquodoboit, with family at his side. Born in Meadowvale, he was a son of Dorothy “Dottie” (Pratt) Dean, Meadowvale, and the late Lyman “Bud” Dean.

Lennie was a truck driver all of his working life, and took great pride in the trucks that he drove. He was known for his practical jokes, sense of humor, and by his signature words, “magin” and “I’m a honky tonk man.”

Lennie loved his family and grandchildren, and will always be missed by wife, Judy; daughters, Cindy Merritt (Phil), Porters Lake; Billie-Jo (Ashley) Fleck, Woodside; grandchildren, Nick, Melissa, Tanya-Marie, Dawson; sister, Patsy (Danny) Russell, Upper Stewiacke; numerous nieces and nephews. Besides his father, he was predeceased by nephew, Duane Russell in infancy.

Visitation will be Tuesday, 7-9 p.m., and funeral service will be Wednesday, at 2 p.m., both in Sharon Presbyterian Church, Dean, Rev. Michael Henderson officiating. Burial will be in Dean Cemetery. Family flowers only. Memorial donations may be made to a charity of choice.

The family express a special thanks to the nursing staff of Musquodoboit Valley Memorial Hospital for their excellent care of Lennie and the family, and to family doctor Barry Giffin.

Arrangements are under the direction of Arimathea Funeral Cooperative, Upper Musquodoboit.
