Franklin “Roderick” Taylor

Taylor, Franklin “Roderick” – Age 89 of Stewiacke, passed away February 3, 2018, as a result of injuries received in a car/pedestrian accident. Born in Wittenburg, he was a son of the late Clarence and Stella (Laidlaw) Taylor.

Rod was a veteran of the Korean War, and served as a medic in the Air Force. He was a long-time member of Stewiacke Legion Branch No. 70. Rod was a prominent figure in Stewiacke riding his bike and walking, always stopping to talk with whomever he met. He received Volunteer of the Year award for his service to others.

Rod was a beloved husband of wife, Linda (Guest); father of son, Brian, Calgary, Alta.; daughter, Nancy (Peter) Summers, London, Ont.; brother of John (Velma), Wittenburg; sister, Zeta Sanford, Burlington; stepfather of Kathryn Rudolph, Cambridge, Ont.; Jonathan Mark, Toronto, Ont. He is also survived by several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by sisters, Mary and Faye; brothers, James, Cecil and Donald.

Cremation has taken place under the direction of Arimathea Funeral Cooperative, Upper Musquodoboit. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Memorial donations may be made to a charity of choice.
