Myers, Elizabeth Pearl “Jean” – Age 69, of East Chezzetcook, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family on June 24, 2018. Born in East Jeddore, she was a daughter of the late Fulton and Pearl (Meade) Power.

Jean was a beautiful woman who always had a smile on her face, and took great pride in caring for her family. She was a hairdresser for almost 50 years and for most of her career worked out of her home in East Chezzetcook. When she wasn’t doing hair, she was busy sewing, baking, or out working in her yard. As long as she had a bit of chocolate, she said, she could do it all...even climbed the trees in the yard for trimming and got up on the roof to clean the chimney. She loved taking care of her family and friends, and her door was always open. Above all, Jean loved the Lord and loved to sing his praises. She always had a song in her heart and on her lips. She was a member of Marine Drive Pentecostal Church, and for years volunteered with the children’s ministries in the church. She loved having fun with the children and teaching them about the love of God.

Jean will always be loved and missed by her husband, Parker; son, Jason; daughter, Rhonda Hanrahan (Andre); granddaughters, Haylee and Zoey Hanrahan; brothers, Bob, Tyrone, Ronald (Roseta), Fulton (Diane); sisters, Darlene Arnold (Ed), Carol MacLeod (Murray), Barbara Perrin (Troy), Angel Roberts (Michael); many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by sister, Deborah Lowther.

Visitation will be Thursday, 6-8 p.m., and a celebration of Jean’s life will be held on Friday, at 11 a.m., both in Marine Drive Pentecostal Church, Head of Jeddore, with Pastor Scott Anderson officiating. Burial will follow in East Jeddore Cemetery. A reception will be held downstairs in the church. Family flowers only. Memorial donations may be made to Canadian Cancer Society.

A special thanks to the nurses and doctors in Dartmouth General 4th floor, and the Dickson Building – QEII, for the compassion and care shown to Jean and her family.

Arrangements are under the direction of Arimathea Funeral Cooperative, Upper Musquodoboit.
