Cox (Whalen), Norma Teresa – of Truro. Our beloved wife, mother and Mémé passed away on August 20, 2018, in Colchester East Hants Health Centre, Truro. She was raised in Chéticamp and Glace Bay and valued her Acadian roots.
She was a member of the Truro Tennis Club, the Truro Hospital Auxiliary, the Catholic Women’s League and was an avid bridge player. She also had a fulfilling professional life and was a wonderful role model and mentor.
She will be dearly missed by her husband of 65 years, Alfred; her children, Corinne (John Dicks), Curtis (Gosia Szczesny), Robert, Jeffrey (Karen Stilwell) and Gregory; as well as her grandchildren, Matthew and Gregory Dicks and Jon-Luc MacQuarrie-Cox, who embody her legacy of kindness and generosity.
Cremation has taken place under the direction of Arimathea Funeral Cooperative, Upper Musquodoboit. A memorial reception will be held on Saturday, September 8, from 1-3 p.m. in Immaculate Conception Church, McCarthy Hall, Truro. Rest in peace, Mémé.
