Prince, Jean-Pierre “J.P.” – It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our loved one, J.P. Prince, on September 5th, 2018, in Truro.

J.P. was the sixth child of Jeanne D'Arc (Daviault) and Eddy Prince of Cap-de-la-Madeleine, Quebec. He joined the Royal Canadian Navy in 1970, serving for four years, and making friends that would last a lifetime. He then made Truro his home, working as a mechanic, later for Department of Lands and Forests and then moving on to home renovations. He truly was a jack-of-all trades and was quick to lend a helping hand to anyone who needed it. J.P. was very family oriented and visited his family in Quebec each year, never forgetting his roots. He will be deeply missed and we will carry him in our hearts forever.

J.P. was a devoted father to David (Tracey Stanley), Monique, Sara, and Stephanie. He shared a close bond with his grandchildren, Lucas Prince-Stanley, Summer Naser and Nicholas Sharpe, who affectionately knew him as Baba.

Cremation has taken place under the direction of Arimathea Funeral Cooperative, Upper Musquodoboit. J.P. was predeceased by his daughter, Stephanie, and his father, Eddy. Besides his mother, he is survived by his siblings, Roger (Hélène), Ginette, Réjean (Hugette), Christian, Donald, Guy (Diane), Claude (Lucy), and Martine. He had a particularly close relationship with his nieces, Jennifer Goodwin and Maya Prince; and nephews, Brandon and Zachary MacDonald.
