Stanley Merlyn Clark

Clark, Stanley Merlyn – We are saddened to announce the death of Stanley Merlyn Clark in St. Vincent’s Nursing Home on April 17, 2019. He was born in 1933 to the late Mary M. (Fraser) and Stanley Neil Clark (New Glasgow).

After leaving Stellarton High School in Grade 11, he went to work at the Bank of Nova Scotia. He returned to Stellarton High School in 1952 where he graduated from Grade 12 and received the Oulton Trophy which is given to those with the following traits: character, ability, leadership, sports and general interest in his classmates. He attended Dalhousie University. His work tenure of employment included CN Express, Ford Motor Company, Winthrop Labs, ABDick, and Jet Tools and Equipment.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Gwen (Kerr); sons, Dr. Gregory (Veronica), Maple Ridge, B.C.; Dr. Scott (Darlene), Bedford; Alan (Anne), Truro; grandsons, James (Erica), Idaho; Alexander, Truro; granddaughters, Alyssa and Nicole Clark, Maple Ridge; nephew, Daniel Clark (Jeri), Colorado; niece, Monica Jacobs (Peter), Colorado; sister-in-law, Liz Kerr, Bedford; brother-in-law, Carl Sollows, Halifax. He was predeceased by sister, Mora Sollows; brother, Dr. Donald Clark.

A special thank you to Dr. Ernest B. Johnson and all the special caregivers of St. Vincent’s, as well as Arimathea Funeral Cooperative.
