Stanley Leo Baker

Baker, Stanley Leo – We are very sad to announce that the world has lost the one and only Stanley Leo Baker. Stan passed away October 6, 2023, following a courageous battle with pulmonary fibrosis. The love of his life, his daughter, Samantha, was by his side.

Snap was born in 1960. He spent most of his life in East Jeddore (God’s Country), working at Baker’s Point Fisheries. Despite his affliction for sea sickness, Snap had a fascination with the fishing life, and loved a big feed of seafood. He could always be found talking to the plants in his hot house, meticulously maintaining something he may or may not use for the next 10 years, or if it was 6pm - cursing at the news.

Stan the Man would have given most people the shirt from his back. Always the life of the party, he was never one to turn down a dance. His silly faces, prankster ways, and big heart will be greatly missed.

Papa is survived by his partner, Sadie (yep, his dog); daughter, Sam (John); grandchildren, Alex (Brandon), Kyle, Emma, and his partner in crime, Mila; great-grandchildren, Bella, Eli, and Arlo; loving siblings, Sylvia (Ernie), Wayne (Cindy), and Michael (Donna). Stan was also loved by many other nieces, nephews, and family members, with special mention to his nephew, Josh (Jody), whom he loved like a son. He was predeceased by his parents, Avis and Wray Baker.

Please join the family for a Celebration of Life on October 15th at 1 p.m. in Musquodoboit Harbour Lions Club, East Petpeswick.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Colchester East Hants Health Centre, Truro, where Stan received the most excellent care.

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
