Keizer, David Daniel – Age 75 of Porters Lake. We are saddened to announce David’s sudden passing on July 18, 2023 in Dartmouth General Hospital.
Left to mourn is his wife of 53 years, Sheila Margaret (Blakeney) Keizer.
David graduated from Eastern Shore District High in 1966; studied the electrical construction trade and apprenticed at Western Electric in 1972. David was a family partner of Porterfield Development, where he planned and developed property. David also had a lengthy career with the Dept. of Public Works as a heavy equipment operator. He spent over 20 years clearing Highway #7 and its arteries with co-worker, Austin Turner.
David was predeceased by his parents, Daniel Joseph and Erma Penda (Ritcey) Keizer; sister, Linda Bonang; brothers-in-law, Leon Bonang and Vernon Blakeney; nephew, Jeffrey Blakeney.
A graveside service will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in David’s memory to Saint Mark’s Cemetery c/o Mae de Bellefeuille, 4183 Highway #7, Porters Lake, N.S. B3E 1E5
