Ramona Mae Caddell

Caddell, Ramona Mae – Ramona Mae, age 94 of Nine Mile River passed away peacefully on March 28, 2024 in Vimy Court, Bible Hill.

Born in Noel, she was a daughter of the late Alda Maude Conley and guardians, the late Stephen and Alice Conley McCulloch, Noel.

She was employed with Cara at the Airport for 12 years until she retired. She enjoyed life as a wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Ramona cherished family suppers, especially when the grandkids were young. She loved music and dancing at the Nine Mile River Community Centre. She enjoyed the dances and jamborees and when she couldn’t dance anymore, she loved card parties and meeting wonderful people at community functions. A member of the Nine Mile River United Church, Ramona had a strong and lasting faith.  In her words she said “I have had a wonderful life, Dear God. Thank You”.

She is survived by her children, Edson (Eleanor), David (Marsha), Kim, Lynn Dauphinee (Alan MacWilliams); grandchildren, Derrick (Amy), Jamie (Amy), Trevor (Katie), Patrick (Brittany), Thomas, Brittany (Justin); great-grandchildren, Jack, Zoe, Jade, Jensen, Logan, Daxtin, Evelyn, Jacob; brother, Fred Weatherbee (Yvonne); sister, Pansy Baker; sisters-in-law, Freda, Flo Dauphinee, Monto Tetlock (Jack).

Besides her mother, Ramona was predeceased by her husband, Donald; daughter, Donna; grandsons, Timothy, Tyler, Shayles; infant brother, Hugh; sister, Alice Weatherbee; sister-in-law, Jean Langille; brothers-in-law, Lorne Caddell, Charles Caddell, Bill Caddell, Earl Baker, Nelson Dauphinee.

Cremation has taken place. The funeral service will take place on Wednesday, April 10th at 2 p.m., in Nine Mile River United Church, Rev. Kim Curlett officiating. Family burial at a later date in Sandy Hill Cemetery, Garden Road, Belnan. The family would like to thank their family and friends for their love and support during this difficult time, and extend appreciation to Dr. Iain MacNeil, VON Home Care and Vimy Court.

Donations in memory of Ramona may be made to Nine Mile River United Church, 6624 Highway 14, Nine Mile River, NS B2S 2V8; Sandy Hill Cemetery c/o Edwin Fraser, 1348 Highway 214, Belnan, NS B2S 2R2; or Diabetes Canada. Arrangements have been entrusted to the compassionate care of Arimathea Funeral Cooperative, Upper Musquodoboit.
