Martell, Caroline Mae – Age 90 of Sydney, NS. It is with deep sadness that the family announce Caroline’s passing on Wednesday, April 16, 2025 in Colchester East Hants Health Centre, Truro. Born in Sydney, she was a daughter of Charles Sampson and Mae MacKillop.
Caroline is survived by her sons, Randy (Linda), Tim (Nicole Gaskell & daughter Maeven); grandchildren, Ryan, Matthew (Tammy Lussier); great-grandson, Evan Martell; brothers, Melvyn (Gerry), Charles (Irene).
She was predeceased by her parents; her husband, Wally; and her brother, Wayne. Cremation has taken place.
At Caroline‘s request there will be no visitation.
Funeral Mass for Caroline and husband, Wally will be held in St. Marguerite Bourgeoys Parish, 40 Cabot St. Sydney, NS on Wednesday, May 14 at 11 a.m. Celebrant Fr. Bill Burke. Committal Service after Mass will take place in Resurrection Cemetery, Sydney Forks. Reception will follow burial in St. Theresa‘s Hall, 285 St. Peters Rd, Sydney. Special thanks to Fr. Jim O’Connor; Dr. Henderson and the wonderful nursing staff of The Palliative Care Unit; and the Hospice volunteers for your care and compassion. As Caroline would say “Thank You Dear, God bless you.” To lifelong friend, Cookie Marks; cousins, Kaye Felik and Julia Werby; faithful friend, Roddie O’Toole; her lifeline, Duncan and Annette Martell; chosen sisters, Theresa Jacobs and Joan Martin; The Hortons gang; nieces, nephews and so many others who supported us during Caroline‘s illness - your love, prayers, visits, cards, flowers, music, etc. and moral support have made this very difficult time bearable.
