Foster retired from a long career with Elections Nova Scotia and went on to a second career with Adesa Car Auctioneers now known as Openlane.
Known for his sense of humor and love of teasing, Foster enjoyed the lighter side of life. He thrived on lively discussions with the possibility of the last word. He earned many fun nicknames over the years - “Big Bird”, “Tick”, “Tight”, and “Mayor”.
He loved all sports and was very passionate about watching curling and cheering on the Nova Scotia teams. Foster was also a true Boston Bruins and Blue Jays fan. One of his major sports was golf and he was a proud participant in the Apex Invitational Golf Tournament. Foster was a member of the Apex Golf Committee for over 45 years and was very instrumental in the advancement, improvements and success of the annual golf tournament. He was also an avid card player and enjoyed playing bid whist, crib and 45’s.
He enjoyed Blues and R & B music as well as Friday Nights with Frank MacKay and the Lincolns and all their reunions over the years.
The family is grateful to everyone for their kind thoughts and prayers, many phone calls, messages, cards and food. We would also like to thank the staff of the Palliative Care Unit for their care and compassion, especially Dr. David Henderson.
