Day, Roberta “Bobby” – age 74. It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of our dear mother, Roberta “Bobby” Day on February 19, 2026 in Twin Oaks Memorial Hospital in Musquodoboit Harbour. After a very courageous battle with cancer, which she fought with bravery and great strength, her wings took flight to the loved ones waiting for her above. Bobby was an admired mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend.
Bobby was born in Toronto, Ontario. She was the daughter of the late Bernard “Bud” and Lily (Williams) Chambers. Bobby is survived by her loving partner, David Dupuis; her fur baby, Boote; her children Robynne, Vern (Robyn) and Walter (Tammy); grandchildren, Devin, Ryan (Ellie), Cassie (Jahmeek), Amanda, Katelynn (Logan), Josh (Morgan), Natalie, Alec (Veronica), Connor and Nathan; great-grandchildren Chance, Jaiden, Addison, Amelia and baby Jahziah; sister, Lily May Chambers; and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband of 47 years, Walter; brothers, Buddy Chambers, Paul Clay; sister, Debra Lynn Chambers; and grandson, Travis Day.
She enjoyed going on adventures and road trips with her partner, David and their German Sheppard, Boote and spending time in their camper watching the sun sets on the river with their special friend, Nelson. She enjoyed the outdoors and spent hours weeding her lawn, determined to win the fight of dandelions taking over her sea of green lawn.
Bobby was a wealth of knowledge and enjoyed a good Sudoku puzzle, doing genealogy, genetics and researching her family tree. She found so much joy in the simple things and treasured moments with family and friends sharing talks and making memories around the kitchen table over a good cup of tea. Her greatest love and pride, was her family. She was always our biggest supporter and closest friend. The one we could rely on to guide us and be honest even when the words may have been hard to hear. She was there to wipe our tears and be the strength we needed if life tried to break us. We have been blessed to have loved and been loved by such an amazing woman.
As per Bobby’s wishes, there will be no visitation or funeral service.
Cremation has taken place, under the care of Arimathea Funeral Cooperative, Upper Musquodoboit.
A private family service to be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Twin Oaks Memorial Hospital, Musquodoboit Harbour.
The family would like to thank Dr. Brandon, Dr. Patience, the nurses and the staff of Twin Oaks/Birches Health Care Foundation for the wonderful care and compassion they provided to mom and to us, the family, during this very difficult time.
“She may no longer be here.
But we can still hear her voice when we are lost
We will still remember her advice during hard moments.
Still feel her love – in memories, in dreams, in our quiet strength.
Because mothers never really leave,
They live in the person we’ve become”
May you rest in peace mom..xoxo
