Frank William Pye

Pye, Frank William – The family of Frank William Pye of Moncton are saddened to announce his sudden passing on January 25, 2026 on board the vessel Wavemaster on the waters near Port Hawkesbury, Cape Breton. Frank passed peacefully in his sleep at the age of 64 years.

Born in Halifax and always the sea man, Frank began his career at sea early in life. He was a 4th Class Marine Engineer and has been all over the world operating various vessels. He was well respected by his fellow crew mates and invaluable to his employers over the years including the Canadian Coast Guard, Western Geophysical, Ocean Rig and more recently Harbour Development. He made an appearance on Extreme Machines featuring the ocean rig, Eirik Raude.

Frank lived life fully on his down time. His favorite activities over the years have been 4-wheeling with trucks and ATVs, snowmobiling, playing pool and tinkering in the garage.

His pride and joy was his son, Austin. They especially enjoyed time together turning wrenches, going on rides or trips on their motorcycles, snowmobiling, car shows and sometimes doing donuts and burnouts in Austin's truck. Austin wishes he could make more memories with Dad but will cherish the ones he has forever.

Frank is survived by his son, Austin Pye, Moncton, N.B; Austin's mom, Lisa (Terry) Girouard, Salisbury, N.B.; brother, Rick (Darlene), Hilden; half-sister, Joanne Stoddard (Darrell), Lantz; half-sister, Donna (Chip) Taylor, Ontario; half-brother, Donald (Winnie) Pye, Ontario.

He was predeceased by his mother, Flora Stoddard; step-father, Robert Stoddard; and his father, Gerald Pye.

Cremation has taken place in care of Arimathea Funeral Cooperative, Upper Musquodoboit.

A Celebration of Life will take place at a later date in honor of Frank.

The family would like to thank the crew on board the Wavemaster for being Frank's family away from home and for being there for his final hours and taking care to get him back home.

Memorial donations may be made to a charity of choice.
