Comeau, Gerard Joseph – age 82 of South Branch, passed away April 20, 2026.
Born in St. Bernard, Digby County, he was a son of the late Clarence and Rosella Comeau.
Gerard was first and foremost known for his smiling face, his joke telling, and helping his neighbors. He was an unlicensed taxi for anyone around who needed to go to an appointment or to the grocery store. He enjoyed playing music and passing that joy around to the seniors in the local nursing homes. Gerard liked all sports and drove Mark to wherever he might be playing sports. He was an active member of the Upper Stewiacke Volunteer Fire Department and called Bingo there every Tuesday night when they held it.
Gerard will always be loved and missed by his wife, Judy (Teas); daughter, Annette; son, Mark (Olivia); sisters, Jean (Elie) Boudreau and Luciette Raymond.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by sister, Arlene.
Cremation has taken place.
Funeral service will be held on Thursday, April 30 at 2 p.m. in Middle Stewiacke United Church with Rev. Michael Henderson officiating. A reception will follow at 3 p.m. in Upper Stewiacke Fire Hall.
