Hedden, Morrison “Moe” – passed away April 6, 2026 at the age of 90. Born in Brantford, Ontario, Morrison was a son of the late Howard and Mabel (Powless) Hedden. He was married for 61 years to his “Lovely Lady”, the late Ruby Edna Garlow.
Morrison was a proud Veteran who served in the Canadian Armed Forces for 25 years as a Physical Training Instructor, a Seaman on three separate Naval ships, and then as a Navigator for the Tracker airplanes when he was posted to Shearwater Naval Base. He also worked at various other jobs after leaving the Armed Forces to keep busy.
He is survived by his five children, Valerie (Robert) Vaughan, Sandra (Steve) Pilon, Richard, Brenda (Jim) Davies, and Michael (Darlene). He also leaves behind ten grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild, all who will miss him dearly.
Morrison accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as his Savior approximately 61 years ago. He loved the Lord and attended and served in various churches over the years. At one time he and his “Lovely Lady, Ruby” had a spot on a local cable tv station in Dartmouth and shared the gospel to anyone who tuned in.
As well, he loved spending time on the water, fishing from his boat, of which he owned a few during his lifetime. He also tried his hand at playing various musical instruments, and enjoyed spending time making silver jewelry and wood carvings.
A Celebration of Life will take place in Wittenburg Baptist Church on Friday, April 10th at 2 p.m. The committal will be in mid-May for family members only.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Colchester East Hants Health Centre Foundation - Palliative Care; Colchester East Hants Hospice Society, where he received excellent care from the staff; or Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada.
