Wilson, Gertrude C. – It is with sadness that the family announces the peaceful passing of Gertrude C. Wilson on July 9, 2026, in Wynn Park Villa, Truro, at the age of 82.
Born in 1944 in Truro, Gertrude dedicated 21 years of service as a caretaker at West Side Villa where she was known for her hard work, kindness and dedication.
She was an avid animal lover who found joy in the simple pleasures of life, especially a cup of Red Rose Black Tea and her favorite licorice.
Gertrude was predeceased by her beloved husband, Roland Wilson; her parents, William and Agnes (Gordon) Cook; her brother, George (Joan) Cook; and her sister, Eileen (Weldon) Turner.
She is lovingly remembered by her daughters, Margaret Tufts (Stanley), Rolanda McNaught (Garry); her grandchildren, Dave McNaught, Samantha McNaught (Isaac) and Jacob Tufts; her great-grandchild, Jordana; along with extended family and friends who will cherish her memory.
In keeping with her wishes, there will be no visitation or funeral service.
Cremation has taken place under the direction of Arimathea Funeral Cooperative.
The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to Dr. Locke and the compassionate staff of East Wing at Wynn Park Villa for the exceptional care, kindness and dignity they provided during Gertrude’s final years and especially in her last hours. Their compassion and support will always be remembered.
Gertrude’s kindness, quiet strength and love for animals will be fondly remembered by all who knew and loved her.
