Brown, Winnifred M. “Win”

Brown, Winnifred M. “Win” – Passed away peacefully in St. Vincent’s Nursing Home, Halifax, on March 9, 2015, at age 98. Born in Foster, Qué., she raised her family in Montreal. In retirement, she moved to Shubenacadie, where she embraced life as an adopted Nova Scotian. Win was committed to helping others and was especially known for visits to shut-ins and nursing homes with her dogs over the years. These and other memories of Win will be cherished by those who knew and loved her.

Winnifred was the loving wife of the late Gordon Brown, and is survived by daughter, Leslie; son-in-law, Michael; daughter-in-law, Joy; grandchildren, Andrew, Gregory, Mitzi and Sean; great-grandson, Kyden. Her son, Bob, predeceased her, as did her siblings, Janet and Robert.

Cremation has taken place. A service will take place in the spring. Donations in Winnifred’s memory may be made to St. Vincent’s Nursing Home, where she was cared for with love and kindness.
