Frederick “Eldon” Geddes

Geddes, Frederick “Eldon” – Age 84 of Dean, passed away January 15, 2018, in Windsor, surrounded by his loving wife, Jessie, and family. Eldon died peacefully in his sleep after a sudden illness and complications from pneumonia. Eldon was born in Dean, a son of the late William and Lenora (Fleming) Geddes.

Surviving are his wife, Jessie (Rogers); children, Janice Hunter (Rick), Wendy Geddes, Susan Fletcher (Kirk), Steven Geddes (Diane); grandchildren, Rebecca, Danielle, Andrea, Stephanie, Christine, Zachary, Ian, Olivia, Sierra, Hayden; great-grandchildren, Lydia and Lily; siblings, Flora Wright, Minnie Dean, Donald Geddes, Evelyn Yade, Grace Sterling. He was predeceased by brothers, Lionel and Gerald.

Eldon and Jessie were happily married for 62 years, since September 29, 1955. His love and devotion to Jessie and family were his hallmark. After many years in Dartmouth raising their family and working, they had moved back to Dean, retiring to his family homestead to live out his days together with Jessie, attending dances, strolling his blueberry fields on his property, working citizens patrol in the surrounding area, and making wonderful wood pieces for his family in his wood shop. Eldon was best known and loved for his sense of humour and kindness to others. 

Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be Thursday, January 18, from 6-8 p.m., and funeral will be Friday at 2 p.m., both in Sharon Presbyterian Church, Dean, Rev. Alice Rutherford officiating.
