Cornelis Levering

Levering, Cornelis – Age 90 of Middle Musquodoboit, passed away peacefully at home in the comfort of his family.

Born in Rotterdam, Netherlands, he was the son of the late Cees and Maria Levering.

Cor came to Canada in 1954 where he worked for his brother, Arie on the farm. From the farm he went to truck driving, working for Department of Transportation. He was a jack of all trades. He was proud of his gardens and his flower gardens and also enjoyed playing cards with his camp boys. Cor was also very proud of his children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and his great great-grandson.

Cor is survived by his partner, Laura Romkey and her son, Arthur; sons, Stephen (Heather), Burton (Yvonne), William “Bill” (Christine), John (Amanda); daughter, Maria (Richard); grandchildren, Cory (Becky), Amanda (Stephen), Jason, Durrell, Noah, Shawn, Kate, Rhonda, Heather and Rob; great-grandchildren, Sierra, Connor, Vada, Cole, Nadia, Lexi, Logan, Bretley, Grace, Maisy, Toni Lynn, Matthew, Liam and Addison; great great-grandson, Gage; brothers, Arie, Maart; and sister, Suze.

He was predeceased by his wife, Lorna; sisters, Mike, Sjaan, Nel, Annie; and brothers, Dirk, Henk and Aad.

He will be sadly missed by many nieces, nephews and friends, especially his four-legged friend, Nora.

Cremation has taken place.

A Celebration of Life will be held on January 18, 2026 in Bicentennial Theatre, Middle Musquodoboit from 1-4 p.m.

A family burial will be held in the spring.
