R. Andrew Stewart

Stewart, R. Andrew – We are deeply saddened to announce the sudden passing of R. Andrew Stewart, age 55, of Bible Hill, on Saturday, June 21, 2025.

Andrew was passionate about the game of golf! A talented golfer, he was known for his long drives, uncanny judge of distance, and easygoing nature on and off the course. He treasured time spent with his close friends – golfing, laughing and sharing meals at the club. He loved driving his bold orange and black convertible Camaro to golf courses across the Maritimes and meeting the challenges of the different courses he encountered. Andrew also excelled at snooker. Precision sports suited him – none more so than golf.

For nearly 30 years, Andrew brought skill and dedication to his career as a Red Seal heavy-duty mechanic in Truro and on the ice roads of Yellowknife. He often shared stories and photos from his time there, especially of the Northern Lights, which he found deeply moving.

At home, Andrew relaxed watching pro golf and movies, appreciated every genre of music and took pride in baking his signature banana bread and granola bars, and perfecting his classic meatloaf. He enjoyed beach vacations with friends and memorable trips with his brother, Allan, including visits to Freeport, Maine and a special vacation in Maui.

Andrew leaves behind his loving mother, Donna; siblings, Kim (Chris) Franklin, Central North River; Allan (Wendy) Stewart, Brookville, NB; and many friends from the golf community and his work life. His quick wit, independent spirit and passion for the game will be deeply missed and fondly remembered.

He was predeceased by his father, Arnold.

A Celebration of Andrew’s Life will be held at a later date.
