Nickerson, John Edward passed away at his home in East Tracadie at the age of 76. John grew up in the Dartmouth area, the fifth of nine children. He later moved to Upper Musquodoboit, as an adult with his wife and their sons, where he lived for 39 years. John spent the majority of his life behind the wheel of a truck, a career he started at age 17. He drove for various companies, ending his career delivering firewood for Parsons Wood Products, a job he thoroughly enjoyed. John enjoyed the time he spent in his wood shop doing carpentry work, especially when making kids toys and birdhouses. He also enjoyed camping and travelling with his family. After retirement, he and Nora enjoyed spending their winters in Georgia, USA. He is survived by his loving wife, travel companion, best friend and soul mate of nearly 53 years, Nora (Blakney); sons, JM (Mora MacNeil), Charles Adam (Amber Jackson, deceased); grandchildren, Morgan, Freya, Dagen and Osric; sisters, Rae (Ron Henshaw), Ann and Elsie. He was predeceased by his daughter, Liza Michelle, in infancy. Cremation has taken place. Burial to follow at a later date.
