McLean, Glenna Joyce – age 91, passed away February 11, 2026 in Dartmouth General Hospital. She was born in Florenceville, New Brunswick and was the only child of the late Henry and Beulah Crockett. She married her late husband, Robert “Bob” McLean in November 1953 and spent many happy years together. They had four beautiful and loving daughters. Glenna was predeceased by Debbie, Vicki, and Cindy; and is survived by Sharon (Paul); her five grandchildren, Adam (Natalie) Johnstone, Erin (Ricky) Sloan, Sam (Jennifer) Rodgers, John (Belinda) Rodgers, Christopher (Anna-Marie) Daniels; her seven great-grandchildren, Cassie, Wyatt, Abby, Oz, Kaitlin, Jackson and Brooklyn. She is also survived by her brother and sister-in-law, Lyall and Marg McLean and there three children, Don, Pat and Tracey. Glenna was the general office manager for 20 years with DND. She was heavily involved in the executive office of the Union and became the Regional VP in 1987, the National Vice President of UNDE in 1991, and lastly the Executive VP in 1993, a position she held and enjoyed until her retirement in 1996. Prior to retirement she loved to camp at Keji with her children and grandchildren alike. Upon retiring she did not slow down as she spent time gardening, baking, making her famous strawberry jam, pickling and visiting any yard sale she could find. She spent her summers at the family cottage in Upper Vaughn, her favorite place to be, where she met many new and dear friends. A visit to Granny’s house always came with an offer of chocolate chip cookies and, of course, a black coffee. Curling would always be on the television in the background, especially if a tournament was on. She always took the time to catch up with everything that was happening in your life. She would often surprise you with how many details she remembered from the last visit and made sure to follow up. Known as Granny by everyone, she was the master of distributing tasks to get everyone to help out. She was accepting of everyone and her extended family was ever growing. She also would love talking to family and bragging to people about what her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were doing, even if the stories were not often the same twice. She will certainly be missed by many cousins and extended family members. She especially loved and looked forward to visits and phone calls from cousin, Carole and her monthly cards from Pam. A private graveside service will be held. All are welcome to a Celebration of Life on Thursday 2p.m. to 4 p.m. in Mic Mac AAC. In lieu of flowers, donations to Hope for Wildlife would be appreciated.
