Christina Chandra Kaulbach

Kaulbach, Christina Chandra – born in Regina, Saskatchewan, Chandra was a welcome surprise for her parents, Garry and Annie. Chandra was predeceased by her mother and leaves behind her father, Garry; brothers, Klay and Craig; uncles, aunts and cousins, as well the Mallia’s in Chetwynd and others across Canada.

Chandra grew up in Inuvik, NT. After grade 10, she attended Ste. Angela’s Academy in Prelate, Saskatchewan and furthered her education at St. Francis Xavier University, Antigonish and University of Northern British Columbia, Prince George. Her teaching began and ended in Chetwynd.

Teaching her students and her family were her life and love.

Chandra lost her brave battle with cancer after six years. She dealt with colon cancer and beat it, liver cancer and beat it… but cancer showing up in her lymph system was the battle she couldn’t win.

Chandra was so kind, so quirky and so full of love that she regularly burst forth with a flood of tears expressing the intensity of her emotions. She was so proud of her family, genuinely proud of each of her friends and so proud of the students she taught. She had an effect on most everyone.

Chandra was a talented artist creating imaginative and realistic images. Many made for family, coworkers and friends.

Chandra passed away in Truro on January 28, 2026, where her last two months were in the hospital for the doctors to control the severe pain she suffered from a ruptured spinal vertebrae. Unfortunately, all different cancer treatments failed. Chandra did not surrender to the cancer. During the last days, Chandra was not able to converse easily or often but she was able to let us know that she was still with us.

Christina Chandra is and will be greatly missed by her family and friends. With confidence we know the Lord Jesus has accepted her into heaven where she will be with her mother and other loved ones who have gone before her.

Rest in peace beautiful daughter, sister, friend and teacher.
