Wright, Lloyd Alexander – Age 87, of Brookfield, passed away December 26, 2025 in Colchester East Hants Health Centre, Truro.
Lloyd was the second son of the late Burton and Edna Wright and loving husband of his predeceased loving wife, Dianne. He was also predeceased by his son, Wayne; brother, Melvin; and sisters, Clara, Marguerite, Evelyn, Helen and Shirley.
Dear Lloyd, you have left a great void in the hearts of those you leave behind – your son, Douglas “Dougie”; granddaughter, Charlie; sister, Lena; brothers, Eric (Trudy) and Wayne (Elaine); companion, Norma; many nieces, nephews, cousins and caring friends including the transport truck drivers you met during your years driving for King Freight Lines and Connors Transport Company across Canada and USA and your company, Wrightway Trucking in Whitehorse delivering supplies to the miners in the far north. When you were not driving a truck, you were riding a horse as you and Dianne entered your beautiful horses in the horse shows in Whitehorse, Yukon, and Haines, Alaska always coming home with many wins and colourful ribbons.
Returning home from Whitehorse, Yukon to Upper Stewiacke, Nova Scotia in 1986 you continued as a transport truck driver until your retirement in September 2018 giving you time to spend with your family and friends.
We will always remember you as a loving and caring brother. There are those who will remember you as a father figure who always had a listening ear, a shoulder to cry on and sound advice for every situation.
We all love you and will miss you. Our faith in Jesus Christ as our Savior gives us the hope that we will see you again when God comes to gather His Jewels. Farewell Lloyd.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday, May 9, 2026 at 2 p.m. in Riverside Cemetery, Upper Stewiacke.
The service will be shared by Don Dodsworth with music by John Hershey.
Arrangements are under the direction of Arimathea Funeral Cooperative, Upper Musquodoboit.
