It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Rhoda Anne Hill on June 29, 2026, at the age of 82. Anne was the heart of her family – a devoted wife, mother, loving sister, cherished mother-in-law, proud grandmother, great grandmother, and beloved aunt. She welcomed everyone with warmth, kindness, and an open heart, making family gatherings feel like home. She found joy in the simple things: spending time with those she loved, sharing stories and laughter, offering encouragement, and creating memories that will be treasured for generations. Her strength, compassion, generosity, and unwavering love were gifts that she gave freely to everyone fortunate enough to know her. As a mother, she provided guidance, unconditional love, and endless support. As a sister, she was a loyal confidante and lifelong friend. As a mother-in-law, she embraced her children’s spouses as her own. As a grandmother and great-grandmother, she welcomed every hug, milestone, and moments spent with them by filling their lives with love and cherished moments. As an aunt, she was a source of comfort, wisdom, and joy to her nieces and nephews. Anne retired from Maritime Life after many dedicated years where she held many positions and created long lasting friendships during and after. Anne enjoyed many summers at her little piece of heaven in Little Harbour hosting family and friends playing washers, having evening fires, beach walks, and many games of cards. The highlight was when her grandchildren visited creating lifelong special memories. Though our hearts are heavy, we take comfort in knowing she lived a life filled with love, kindness, and grace. Her legacy lives on in the family she nurtured and the many lives she touched. She leaves behind a family who will forever carry her love in their hearts: son, Tom (Liz), Enfield; daughter, Dee (Dan) Berrigan, Petawawa, Ontario; grandchildren; Travis (Mary) Berrigan; Toni (Dave) Pascoal; great-grandchildren, Daniel and Sophie, Andrew and Brooklyn; brother, Chris (Karen) Paley; sister, Tammy (Larry) Urquhart ; sister-in-law, Dawn Paley; brother-in-law, Peter Ashley and several special nieces and nephews. Anne was predeceased by her husband, Bud the love of her life; sisters, Joan, Laureen, and brother, George; brother-in-law, Gary.
