Shirley Edith Anderson

Anderson, Shirley Edith – Age 81, of East Chezzetcook, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 25, 2017, surrounded by family. Shirley was born in Halifax to the late Wilfred and Mary (Arsenault) Goyetche.

She grew up with her four brothers in Cheticamp, later moving to Halifax where she worked in the retail industry for several years. A loving wife, caring mother and friend of many, she had a passion for family, music and her community. It is with the heaviest of hearts that we say goodbye, but move forward knowing we have been blessed having her in our lives. She never seemed to grow tired of giving, and our lives have become something beautiful because of how much love she shared with us all.

She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Donald; children, Darlene Romo (Donald), Debbie Doucette (Wade), Darren Anderson (Lisa); grandchildren, Blake, Gillian, Devon, Chad, Colton, Kendra, Renee; great-grandchildren, Chloe and Rylee; brothers, Clarence, Gerald, Arthur. She was predeceased by her brother, Raymond.

Cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, August 5, at 2 p.m. in Christ Church, Lower East Chezzetcook, Rev. Bruce Murray officiating. A reception will follow in St. Genevieve’s Church Hall, East Chezzetcook. Family flowers only. Memorial donations may be made to Christ Church or Twin Oaks Memorial Hospital, Musquodoboit Harbour.

A special "thank you" to all staff of Twin Oaks Memorial Hospital for the exceptional care and compassion shown during this difficult time, and to our family and friends for their love and support.
