Isenor, Linda Frances – It is with unimaginable sorrow that our family announces the sudden passing of our beloved mother, Linda Frances Isenor, on September 13, 2026. She was the loving wife of Cleve Isenor, Dutch Settlement, who was at her side when she left us.
Mom was born in Hardwood Lands, one of eight children raised on the beautiful Gibbon homestead. Mom truly adored her siblings and treasured times spent with them.
Mom began her early career working for the Worker's Compensation Board of Canada in Halifax. As she started her family, she devoted her life to being a cherished homemaker, raising her children and babysitting half of the neighborhood. In 1989, Mom began working for Mount Saint Vincent University until her retirement at the age of 77. She genuinely enjoyed her job and fondly talked about "her" students and co-workers. She is remembered there for kindness, dedication and hard work.
The ultimate joys of mom's life were here children and grandchildren. She was always a proud, devoted presence for the family through every celebration, tragedy and just day to day life. Mom loved every one of her children and grandchildren with her whole heart and we will be forever blessed to have the beautiful memories we each will cherish forever.
Mom loved her country music and could clear a dance floor with her dancing skills. She and Dad were once avid dart players and together enjoyed playing crib and auction 45 with friends and family. Her favorite hobbies included yelling bingo, teasing Dad, talking to her chickens, drinking Tim's coffee and anything to do with flowers. Mom never met a piece of chocolate or fudge she didn't like. She is also renowned for her bread making skills and it gave her immense pleasure to share with many. Mom will forever be remembered for her huge heart, her bright pink lipstick and the unconditional love she so freely gave.
Mom was predeceased by her beloved parents, Bertis and Annie Gibbon; brothers, Bobby, Billy, Alan, Larry and sister, Betty. She was also predeceased tragically by her first husband, Wayne Castle.
She is survived by her husband, Cleve Isenor; children, Dewayne, Belinda (Stewart), Fred (Sam), Laurie (Jane), Cleve Jr (Lynette) and Barbie (Mike). She was the incredibly proud grandmother of Brittany, Justin, Tyler, Chloe, Cole, Hunter, Devin, Jolene, Shannon, Rowan, Mary Jayne and Glenda. Her great-grandchildren, whom she lovingly cherished are Ella Mae, Delaney Lynn, Jackson Earl, Levi, Lloyd, Emma, Isabella, Ava and Jackson.
Mom is also survived by her dear sister, Barb (John); baby brother, Mark (Janie); many brothers- and sisters-in-law; as well as many nieces and nephews.
Following mom's wishes, there will be a graveside service at St. George’s Anglican Church Columbarium, Dutch Settlement on September 20 at 2 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, a donation to Lupus Canada or The Kidney Foundation of Nova Scotia may be made if you so choose.
