Ward, M. Ann – Wyse’s Corner, died tragically on January 7, 2015, 11 days before her 55th birthday. Born in Halifax, she was a daughter of the late Clifford William “Bill” and Ida Raye (McAndrew) Ward. In her younger years, Ann worked at Zeller’s, where she also did some modelling. She was an accomplished seamstress and for the past 10 years, worked in housekeeping at the Hilton Garden Inn. Ann felt that her proudest achievement came from raising her four children.
Surviving are children, Kent (Liz) Hennigar, Kingston, Ont.; Codey Hennigar, Chandra Hennigar, Nikita Carstensen, all of Wyse’s Corner; granddaughter, Lilly; siblings, Christine (John) Kozier, Lake Egmont; Tim Ward (Eric Hill), Pembroke; Wade Ward, Elderbank; Lorelei (Gordon) Dillman, Lake Egmont; Dan (Marion) Lohnes, Burlington, Ont.; Blair Ruggles, Dartmouth; brother-in-law, Greg McMullin, Dartmouth; extended family, Janice LaForest, Ecum Secum. She was predeceased by her partner, Hans Danny Carstensen; daughter, Sarah Martina; sister, Michelle “Shelly”.
Visitation will be Tuesday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m., in St. Paul’s United Church, 117 Lake Egmont Rd., Antrim, and funeral service will be Wednesday at 1 p.m., in Middleton United Church, 12430 Hwy. 224, Middle Musquodoboit, Rev. Dr. Linda Yates officiating. Burial will follow in Nuttall Hill Cemetery, Antrim. Family flowers only. Memorial donations may be made to Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia or Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation of Canada.
