Kerr, Dominique – Age 55, Meaghers Grant, passed away December 14, 2014 in Musquodoboit Valley Memorial Hospital, Middle Musquodoboit. Born in Germany, she was a daughter of Jeanine DesChanel and the late René Jaillet. Dominique and her family moved to Quebec when she was a child. She spent most of her working life with Atlantic Provinces Special Education Authority, from where she retired after 27 years. She started her little bakery in the spring of 2013 and enjoyed all her visitors, for both treats and for sharing faith and troubles. She loved all animals, even from a young age, and finally had her own variety of creatures, including chickens, ducks, rabbits, an injured pet crow, and cats and dogs. She enjoyed her little goat farm and missed them when she could no longer go to the barn.
Besides her mother, she is survived by her husband, Stuart; children, Gwen, Halifax; Ulric, Alberta; Sebastién, St. John’s, Nfld.; brother, Patrick, Quebec. She is missed by her dog, Marley.
Cremation has taken place under the direction of Arimathea Funeral Cooperative, Upper Musquodoboit. A visitation will be held on Sunday from 2-4 p.m. in the Meaghers Grant Fire Hall. Memorial donations may be made to Canadian Cancer Society or a charity of choice.
