Murphy, Richard Paul “Rick” – Age 54, of West Jeddore, passed away suddenly on November 17, 2014 in Dartmouth General Hospital. Born in Summerside, P.E.I., he was a son of the late Richard and Freida (Holmes) Murphy. Rick is survived by sister, Wendy Murphy; brother, Robert (Angie); nieces and nephews, Andy (Erin) MacInnis, Jeff (Jaclyn) MacInnis, Katti (Matt) MacInnis, Mark MacInnis, Lynann Murphy; great-nieces and nephews, Lorelai MacInnis, Bryce Power, Jordyn MacInnis, Jace Spears; aunts and uncles, Earith Petersen, Earl and Jean Murphy, Leonard and Christine Murphy, all of Prince Edward Island; Josey Breau, United States; Fred and Sheila Murphy, Flo Murphy, Sue Murphy, Jean Murphy, all of Prince Edward Island; many cousins. Rick was predeceased by grandparents, Grace and Alonzo Holmes, Lima and Clarence Murphy; aunts and uncles, Jean Holmes, Vivian Holmes, Marion (Bill) Henderson, Eric and Doris Holmes, Russell Murphy, Joe Murphy, Frank Murphy, Robert Petersen, Ulysses Breau; cousins, Freddy Henderson, Don Holmes, Garth Petersen, Patrick Murphy, Derrick Murphy, Doug Murphy, Marsha Henderson.
Cremation has taken place under the direction of Arimathea Funeral Cooperative, Upper Musquodoboit. In keeping with Rick’s wishes, he will return to Prince Edward Island and be laid to rest beside his dad. Visitation will be 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. on Sunday in West Prince Funeral Home, Palmer Road. Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. on Monday in Immaculate Conception Church, Palmer Road.
