Larry Austin Smith

Smith, Larry Austin – It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Larry Austin Smith who passed away peacefully on July 20, 2026, at the age of 69, surrounded by the love of his family.

Larry was born in Tatamagouche, Nova Scotia to Kathleen and Chesley Smith. He spent his childhood in East Wallace, moving to Truro when he was 18. Larry dedicated 44 years to Hollis Ford in many positions but was best known for his friendly smile while driving the Courtesy Shuttle. Outside of work, he enjoyed music and concerts, particularly rock, travelling, Sunday drives and cherished time spent with family and friends. 

Above all else, Larry was a devoted husband, father and step-father, grandfather, brother and friend. His love, guidance, and support touched the lives of everyone who knew him.

Larry leaves behind his beloved wife, Cindy Smith; his son, Jason Smith (Sue); his stepchildren, Joe Trevors and Erin Gould; his grandchildren, Jake Smith and Leo Gould; his siblings, Jean Mills, Rockley, NS; Norman Smith (Gurli) Upper Malagash; Don Smith, Tatamagouche; Judy Brogan (Ken), Gulf Shore; Kevin Smith (Christine), Wallace Station; many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends who will miss him deeply.

He was predeceased by his parents, Kaye and Ches Smith; brother, Walter; sisters-in-law, Barb and Helen; and brother-in-law, Doug Mills.

The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the compassionate staff of VON, the ALS Society of NS and NB, Dr. Patterson and Dr. Smith, Becky Blair, and the wonderful staff on the Palliative Care Unit at Colchester East Hants Health Centre, for the exceptional care and kindness shown to Larry and his loved ones during his final days and years. 

A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday July 24 from 5-9 p.m. in Truro Lions Club. In keeping with Larry’s wishes, cremation has taken place and a private burial will take place.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Larry’s memory may be made to ALS Society of Nova Scotia and New Brunswick. 

Though Larry is no longer with us, his love, laughter, strength, and the countless memories he created will live on forever in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.

Richard "Rick" Donald Humphreys

Humphreys, Richard “Rick” Donald – passed away suddenly at home in Vancouver, British Columbia, on July 14, 2026 at the age of 67.

Born in Halifax, Rick grew up in Musquodoboit Harbour, Nova Scotia. He lived and worked in both Nova Scotia and Alberta during his younger years before settling in British Columbia, where he spent the last 35 years of his life.

Rick was known as a dedicated hard worker in the various jobs he held throughout the years and particularly enjoyed his work in landscaping and painting. He had a passion for music, a welcoming heart, and always saw the good in everyone. He treasured the many friendships he built over the years and held dear the memories of time spent with family and friends. Rick had a deep appreciation for nature, found peace in the beauty of the outdoors, cherished mountain and ocean views, and especially loved the freedom of hitting the open road on a motorcycle: “Four wheels move the body, but two wheels move the soul.”

He was predeceased by his parents, Art and Marion Humphreys; and his brother, Kevin.

Rick is survived by his sisters, Karen Lynch (Eric Lowe) of Porters Lake, NS; and Ethel Bayers (Barry) of Musquodoboit Harbour, NS; his brothers, Wade (Julie) of Miramichi, NB, Bud (Leona) of West Chezzetcook, NS, and Mike of Porters Lake, NS; his granddaughter; his daughter, Rikki-Leigh; and his son, Nicholas. He will also be fondly remembered by his nieces, nephews, many friends, and extended family.

The family finds comfort in knowing Rick is reunited with Mom, whose unconditional love and unwavering support helped him through many difficulties in his life. He missed her greatly.

A private family graveside service and interment will be held in Musquodoboit Harbour at a later date.

Donations in Rick’s memory may be made to the Alzheimer Society of Canada, if desired, or to a charity of your choice.

Krystal Gail McKinnon

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Krystal Gail McKinnon, who passed away peacefully surrounded by family on July 13, 2026, at the age of 40. Born in Ontario, Krystal made her home in Gaetz Brook, Nova Scotia, where she built a life centered on love, family, and friendship. Her beautiful spirit, caring heart, and unwavering devotion to those she loved left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know her. Krystal was the beloved daughter of Darlene and David Myers and daughter in law of David and Debbie Terry. She was predeceased by her brother, Nicholas; her grandparents and great-grandparents; two beloved baby cousins; and her childhood best friend, Justin. For 19 wonderful years, Krystal shared her life with her devoted partner, Derrick Terry. Together they raised three beautiful children, Dylan, Katelyn, and Jacob, who were the greatest joy and pride of her life. Krystal was an amazing mother who made her children the center of her world. She will be deeply missed by her siblings, Cheryl McKinnon; Jessica Myers (Rachel); Tyler McKinnon (Jenny); Adam McKinnon (Sarah); and Donovan Terry (Jenn); along with her lifelong best friend, Laura Lee Myers and father, Kenneth McKinnon. Krystal also leaves behind many loving aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, and countless friends throughout Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, and Ontario. Throughout her career, Krystal worked with Cape Scott, MBA Group and DRDC, where she was respected for her dedication and strong work ethic. Outside of work, Krystal found happiness on the ball field. For the past 24 years, she proudly played with her beloved Dirty Dozen family. The friendships, laughter, and memories she made through the game became an important part of her life and will forever be cherished by her teammates. Even in her passing, Krystal's kindness and generosity continued to shine. As an organ donor, she gave the extraordinary gift of life, helping to save six people through organ donation. Her nurses shared that while organ donation typically saves three to four lives, Krystal's selfless gift helped save six—an incredible reflection of the generous, giving person she was. Her legacy will continue to live on through the lives she touched, both during her lifetime and beyond. The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the exceptional staff at the Halifax Infirmary (5.2) for the compassionate care shown to Krystal and her loved ones. A very special thank you goes to her nurses, Taylor, Jill, and Becca, whose kindness, dedication, and unwavering support brought comfort during the family's most difficult days. Your compassion will never be forgotten. Although words cannot fully capture the incredible person Krystal was, those who knew her will remember her for the love she gave so freely, the strength she showed through life's challenges, and the countless lives she touched with her kindness. Her memory will live on in the hearts of all who loved her. A celebration of Krystal's life will be held at the Eastern Shore Community Center on Sunday, July 19th, 2026 between 2-5pm. Please wear green or purple in Krystal’s honor. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made directly through one of the many fundraisers in place supporting the family.

Gertrude C. Wilson

Wilson, Gertrude C. – It is with sadness that the family announces the peaceful passing of Gertrude C. Wilson on July 9, 2026, in Wynn Park Villa, Truro, at the age of 82.

Born in 1944 in Truro, Gertrude dedicated 21 years of service as a caretaker at West Side Villa where she was known for her hard work, kindness and dedication.

She was an avid animal lover who found joy in the simple pleasures of life, especially a cup of Red Rose Black Tea and her favorite licorice.

Gertrude was predeceased by her beloved husband, Roland Wilson; her parents, William and Agnes (Gordon) Cook; her brother, George (Joan) Cook; and her sister, Eileen (Weldon) Turner.

She is lovingly remembered by her daughters, Margaret Tufts (Stanley), Rolanda McNaught (Garry); her grandchildren, Dave McNaught, Samantha McNaught (Isaac) and Jacob Tufts; her great-grandchild, Jordana; along with extended family and friends who will cherish her memory.

In keeping with her wishes, there will be no visitation or funeral service.

Cremation has taken place under the direction of Arimathea Funeral Cooperative.

The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to Dr. Locke and the compassionate staff of East Wing at Wynn Park Villa for the exceptional care, kindness and dignity they provided during Gertrude’s final years and especially in her last hours. Their compassion and support will always be remembered.

Gertrude’s kindness, quiet strength and love for animals will be fondly remembered by all who knew and loved her.

Arleigh Ross Cornelius

Cornelius, Arleigh Ross – Age 91, of Middle Musquodoboit, passed away on July 9, 2026 after a brief stay in Musquodoboit Valley Memorial Hospital.
Arleigh was a son of the late Foster and Maude (Boutilier) Cornelius.
He is survived by his wife, Rev. Marjory and daughter, Stacey.
Arleigh is predeceased by an infant son, Alan; brothers, Arnold and Laurie; and sisters, Marion and Nita.

He enjoyed sports, especially hockey, cross-country skiing, trout fishing, woodworking, and camping in Kejimkujik National Park. He also enjoyed playing cards (auction and crib), clowning around and having fun with family and close friends.

Arleigh's funeral service will be held on Saturday, July 18 at 1 p.m. in Riverside United Church, 9691 Moose River Road, Middle Musquodoboit. A reception will follow in Holy Cross Church, 11645 Hwy 224 Middle Musquodoboit at 2 p.m.

Doris Elizabeth "Betty" McManus

McManus, Doris Elizabeth “Betty” – age 86, of Bible Hill, passed away peacefully at home on July 5, 2026.

Born in Halifax, she was a daughter of the late Matthew and Bessie (Rafuse) Gallant.

Betty was a stay-at-home mom who always had an open door for Shawna’s friends. She was a caring, loving wife to her husband, Charles “Chuck”. Her spare time was taken up as a volunteer with several organizations.

She will always be loved and missed by her children, Shawna McManus (Doug McLaren), Bible Hill; Gail Oakley, Fairview; Cathy McCarthy, Annapolis Valley; Wayne McCarthy, USA; Bev Munro, Bible Hill; Wallace McCarthy, BC; sister, Barb Harnish, Herring Cove; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Besides her husband, she was predeceased by 13 siblings.

Cremation has taken place.

A Celebration of Life will be held August 8 at 2 p.m. at the family home in Bible Hill.

A family graveside burial will be held in Bible Hill Cemetery.

Memorial donations may be made to Canadian Red Cross.

Bessie Mae Stewart

Stewart, Bessie Mae – It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Bessie Mae Stewart, age 84 of Truro. She passed away peacefully on July 5, 2026 in Colchester East Hants Health Centre, Truro.

Born in Dean, she was a daughter of the late Dave and Catherine Watson.

Bessie is survived by brothers, Charlie (Alaine) Watson, Wayne (Bonnie) Watson; sisters, Faye Fraser, Judy Jardine, Janie Daily, Donna Hawes, Debbie (Ken) Cox; very special friends, Juanita Hamilton and family; and many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her sister, Joan Eastman and her brother, Robert.

She was known for her love of Pepsi, stray cats and feeding the deer.

Cremation has taken place and a family graveside service will be held at a later date.

Gary David Webber

Webber, Gary David – It is with sadness that the family of Gary David Webber, of Mineville, Nova Scotia, announce his passing at home on Sunday, July 5, 2026, at the age of 65.

Gary was a son of Carrol (Coombs) Webber and the late Alden "Bunny" Webber.

Gary worked as a drywaller for many years, taking pride in his work and the quality of what he did. In his free time, he enjoyed browsing yard sales and shops, looking for interesting finds, and watching his beloved Toronto Maple Leafs. He appreciated the simple things in life and enjoyed keeping busy.

Gary leaves behind his sons, Shawn (Tiffany) and Michael (Melissa); his grandchildren, Chantelle, Jamie, Nik, Wesley, and Elsie; his loving mother, Carrol (Coombs) Webber; his sister, Donna (Lloyd); his brother, Brian (Tina); along with many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends who will remember him.

He was predeceased by his father, Alden "Bunny" Webber, and his brother, Darrell (Honey) Webber.

In keeping with Gary's wishes, cremation has taken place.

Rhoda Anne Hill

 It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Rhoda Anne Hill on June 29, 2026, at the age of 82.  Anne was the heart of her family – a devoted wife, mother, loving sister, cherished mother-in-law, proud grandmother, great grandmother, and beloved aunt.  She welcomed everyone with warmth, kindness, and an open heart, making family gatherings feel like home.  She found joy in the simple things: spending time with those she loved, sharing stories and laughter, offering encouragement, and creating memories that will be treasured for generations.  Her strength, compassion, generosity, and unwavering love were gifts that she gave freely to everyone fortunate enough to know her.  As a mother, she provided guidance, unconditional love, and endless support.  As a sister, she was a loyal confidante and lifelong friend.  As a mother-in-law, she embraced her children’s spouses as her own.   As a grandmother and great-grandmother, she welcomed every hug, milestone, and moments spent with them by filling their lives with love and cherished moments.  As an aunt, she was a source of comfort, wisdom, and joy to her nieces and nephews.  Anne retired from Maritime Life after many dedicated years where she held many positions and created long lasting friendships during and after.   Anne enjoyed many summers at her little piece of heaven in Little Harbour hosting family and friends playing washers, having evening fires, beach walks, and many games of cards.  The highlight was when her grandchildren visited creating lifelong special memories.  Though our hearts are heavy, we take comfort in knowing she lived a life filled with love, kindness, and grace.  Her legacy lives on in the family she nurtured and the many lives she touched.  She leaves behind a family who will forever carry her love in their hearts:  son, Tom (Liz), Enfield; daughter, Dee (Dan) Berrigan, Petawawa, Ontario; grandchildren; Travis (Mary) Berrigan; Toni (Dave) Pascoal; great-grandchildren, Daniel and Sophie, Andrew and Brooklyn; brother, Chris (Karen) Paley; sister, Tammy (Larry) Urquhart ; sister-in-law, Dawn Paley; brother-in-law, Peter Ashley and several special nieces and nephews.  Anne was predeceased by her husband, Bud the love of her life; sisters, Joan, Laureen, and brother, George; brother-in-law, Gary.  A celebration of Anne’s life will be held on July 4, 2026, 1:00pm – 3:00pm, in the Magnolia Continuing Care Community room, 416 Hwy 2, Enfield, Nova Scotia.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Magnolia Recreation for residents – donations@rosecrest.ca – please include in comments: Magnolia Recreation; or donations may be made to the charity of your choice.. Jessie LaVerne Burns

Burns, Jessie LaVerne – Age 73, of Enfield, passed away on June 27,2026 in Colchester East Hants Health Centre, Truro.

A beautiful and kind soul has left this world, and now is in the loving embrace of our lord and savor Jesus Christ. May he take her to his kingdom on high, where the pain and hurt of this world, cannot enter and she will rest for eternity.

LaVerne was a community member, who worked at a local convenience store for 20 plus years, where she made many friends. She enjoyed doing crosswords, loved flowers and her birds, in particular cardinals. Her favourite music was by Norman Greenbaum called “Spirit in the Sky”.

LaVerne is survived by her husband Jack; daughter Katrina (Jason) Cole; special grandchildren, Austyn Burns, Gavin and Autumn Cole.

She is predeceased by son, Joshua; father, John Paul; her mother, Gertie Moore; and several aunts and uncles.

Special thanks to the palliative care staff and doctors in Colchester East Hants Health Centre, for their excellent compassion and care. It is very much appreciated. Also a special thanks to LaVerne’s longtime friends, Mike, Catherine, Shawnett, and the rest know who you are.

Wayne Robert Wambolt

Wambolt, Wayne Robert – Age 81, of Milford, passed away on Saturday, June 27, 2026 in Brookfield. Born in Wellington, he was the youngest son of the late Samuel Seaforth and Lottie Mae (Taylor) Wambolt.

Wayne is survived by his children, Robin Wambolt (Torben), Dutch Settlement; Dwayne Wambolt (Tabatha), Kentville; estranged daughter Roxanne Sutherland, Shubenacadie; and Durell Wambolt (Bernadette), Mississauga, Ontario. He is also survived by his sister, Betty Jean, Georgetown, Ontario; six grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.

He was predeceased by his former wife, Phoebe Cousins; brothers, Aretas Wambolt and Vernon Wambolt; and his beloved sister, Bertina Murphy. Loved ones he now joins in rest.

Those who knew Wayne knew his greatest passion: the miles he put beneath his wheels as a long-distance truck driver. Trucking wasn’t just his job—it was his identity, his pride, his freedom. He could tell you what the sunrise looked like in half a dozen provinces. He could recall the best diners, the worst weather, and the stretches of highway where he felt most at peace. The cab of his truck was a place where he thought, dreamed, and reflected. It was where he felt most himself. The highway wasn’t just his workplace; it was his home and the place he nurtured his deep appreciation for hard work!

The family extends our heartfelt gratitude to VON, Colchester East Hants Health Centre, and the staff of Elk Court long-term care in Brookfield for their kindness, care, and support during Wayne’s final years. We would also like to extend a special thank you to Linda and Billy Day for their unwavering friendship and care for Dad during these most difficult times.

Audrey Lillian (Prosser) Burrill

BURRILL, Audrey Lillian (Prosser) - age 95, of Truro, passed away peacefully at home on June 27, 2026.  Born In Tusket and brought up in Tusket and Yarmouth, she was a daughter of the late Clayton and Lillian (Raynard) Prosser.

She and her husband, the late Rev. Fred Burrill, served United Church congregations in Canterbury, Berwick, Spryfield, Moncton, Saint John, and Chatham, in 42 years of ministry together. In retirement in Truro, she served as organist and elder, for many years, at Brunswick St. United (now Community United) in Truro.  She was devoted to the church.

She was an accomplished pianist, piano teacher and organist—teaching herself, in her late 80s, to play by ear, when her eyesight failed due to macular degeneration.  She devoted herself to imparting the gift of music to her family.

Education was an uncompromising value.  Following graduation from Acadia, she taught school in Yarmouth, Shelburne and Fredericton, and in later years, after earning a second degree, from the Université de Moncton, also taught in Moncton and Saint John.  The education of her children was a focus of her life's work.

She was Mom to four boys:  Gary (Debbie Perrott), Roger (Nancy Taylor), both of Halifax; Randy (Victoria Reich), Pictou; and Gordon (Christine Burrill), Fredericton.  She was “Mine” to 13 grandchildren:  Clayton, Fred, Eva, Rosanna, Sophie, Nigel, Adrian, Seth, Sara, Marshall, Jeremy, Melanie, Rebecca; and 19 great-grandchildren.

In addition to her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, she is survived by her sister, Shirley Wallace, Wolfville; and many beloved nephews, nieces, and cousins.

With the help of many caring people, she was able to remain in her home throughout her later life.  A great debt of gratitude is owed by the family for the unsurpassed care provided over the last 18 months by Tanya Sabean, Lisa Bishop, and Karen Sigouin.

Visitation will be Monday, July 6, from 6-8 p.m., and funeral service will be Tuesday, July 7, at 2:30 p.m., both in Community United Church, Brunswick St., Truro, Rev. Cathie Crooks officiating.  Interment will be Thursday, July 9, at 11:00, in Mountain Cemetery, Yarmouth. 

Donations, if so desired, may be made to Community United Church, or a charity of choice.

Carman Clifford Turner

Turner, Carman Clifford – Age 84, of Carrolls Corner, passed away June 25, 2026 in Braeside Home for Special Care, Middle Musquodoboit.

Born in Carrolls Corner, he was a son of the late Clifford and Margaret (Isenor) Turner.

Carman worked in the office with Department of Transportation for 37 years. In his spare time, he enjoyed the animals he had on his hobby farm.

Surviving are his sister, Irene (Dan) MacPhee; sister-in-law, Sharon Turner; brother-in-law, Dean Doncaster; and several nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, he was predeceased by brother, Larry and sister, Marilyn.

Cremation has taken place.

In keeping with his wishes, there will be no funeral services.

Memorial donations may be made to SPCA or any animal shelter.

Charles Lindbergh Milner

Milner, Charles Lindbergh – It is with sadness and rejoicing we announce the passing of Charles Lindbergh Milner. He is now in the loving arms of his Lord and Savoir and has been reunited with so many family and friends that have gone before him. Charlie passed away on June 23, 2026, in the care of the Palliative Care Team at Colchester East Hants Health Centre, Truro.  He was born in 1929, in Amherst, Nova Scotia. He grew up in this small town, during the Great Depression and leading into the years preceding WWII. In Charlie’s words it made his family tough, resilient and resourceful.

Charlie is survived by his second wife of 36 years, Cathy (Lutwick); his children, Graham (Judy), Sussex, NB; Christopher (Sharon), Brookside, NS; Robin (Jerry), Brookside, NS; and Jackie (Stacey), Amherst, NS; fifteen grandchildren and forty-two great-grandchildren (all of whom he loved dearly); brothers, Wallace (Lorraine), Amherst. N.S; Douglas (Linda), Prince George, BC; Raymond (Heather), Amherst, NS; and sister, Jean (Burt Rose),  Amherst, NS.; and many other nieces, nephews and cousins.

Charlie was predeceased by his first wife of 34 years, Doris Evelyn (Allen), who together raised their four children; his parents, Alva and Ruby (McNulty) Milner; and brother, Geoffrey (Betty) Milner.

Charlie retired from the Department of Lands and Forests in September 1992 after thirty-nine years of service. He loved all aspects of the job but was particularly fond of the game work where he made life-long friendships with RCMP officers and other Department staff. He always enjoyed telling anyone willing to listen to all of the shenanigans that went on during game work season.  He spent most of his career with the Department in the Middle Musquodoboit area and was instrumental in the establishment of the Area Office/Depot for South Central District. He was also very instrumental in the establishment of two Provincial Parks in the area and one Provincial Scout Camp. His vision for the Musquodoboit Valley Picnic Park, Dollar Lake Provincial Campground and Camp Nedooae, were destinations where families could enjoy the outdoors.

Charlie gave a lot of his time to volunteer work in the community over the years including the Musquodoboit Valley Volunteer Fire Department and Ground Search and Rescue Team, Canadian Atmospheric Environment Services, Mount Traber Bible Camp Board and the Musquodoboit Valley Memorial Hospital Board.  He was most proud of his time spent with Scouts Canada, where he mentored many of the young lads growing up in and around the area. Of particular pride was a group of young boys (affectionately called the “Arlenboro Gang”).  As adults, these men made a tradition of gathering at the camp in Wittenburg with Charlie to enjoy time together with the intention of hunting and fishing.  Many times, this meant only a good walk in the woods but they enjoyed good food, singing, playing all sorts of different musical instruments and trying to solve all the problems of the world. Charlie’s family are forever grateful for this group of fine men who always had time for Charlie - Dan & Jim Reid, Gordon Milne, John and Ally MacDonald, Frank McKay, Eckhart Schroeder, Bill MacDonald with occasional visits from Greg Sims.

Above all Charlie loved his Lord and Savoir and tried to pass on that love to his family, friends and anyone who would listen to this blessed hope.

Our family would like to thank the medical staff who have cared for Charlie over the years. Dr. Barry Giffin and Dr. Karen Day (personal Physicians), Dr. Robert Rutledge and Dr. Robyn McFarlane (Cancer Care Team at Dixon Centre), Continuing Care Team (Musquodoboit Valley Memorial Hospital), Dr.’s Jonathan Moore and Joseph Lawen (Urologists) and for the compassionate care from the Palliative Care Team at the Colchester East Hants Health Centre.

A visitation with the family will be held on July 6, 2026 from 12:30-1:30 p.m. with a Celebration of Life to follow at 2 p.m., both in Wittenburg Baptist Church. Eva Marlene (Higgins) Holman

Holman, Eva Marlene (Higgins) – 86 years old, originally from Higginsville.
It is with broken hearts we share the sudden passing of our beloved mom/Grammie on Sunday, June 21, 2026 in Braeside Home for Special Care.

Eva lived a life full of love and countless adventures. Eva worked tirelessly in the dairy barn beside her late husband, Ronald for many years. She was a devoted mom and 4-H mom. You could always find Eva supporting her own children and many others from the community. You could always find her in the barn or out for walks with her dogs and grandchildren. Eva loved everything to do with nature and was happiest whilst outdoors.
Eva was a daughter of the late Melvin and Ester Higgins.

Eva is survived by her children, Joan (Barry), Murray (Dalyce), Judy (Pat), Garnet, Leslie (Kelly); siblings, Ellen (Albert), Charlie (Dianne), Linda (Tom), Dan (Ming); 15 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her husband, Ronald Holman; brothers, Rod and Richard.

There will be a Celebration of Life held to remember Eva on Sunday, July 5, 2026 in the Bicentennial Theatre from 1-3:30 p.m.

Dollie Frances Isenor

Isenor, Dollie Frances – Age 72, of Truro, passed away June 18, 2026 in Colchester East Hants Health Centre, Truro.

Dollie thoroughly enjoyed her job as a crossing guard which she did for over 30 years with Willow Street Elementary and Truro Elementary. In her spare time Dollie liked knitting and crocheting to put in the time.

Surviving are her daughter, Debbie (Lee), Truro; grandchildren, Crystal Isenor, Jeffery Harnish (Megan), both of Truro; great-grandchildren, Amiliah, Sophie, Levi.

She was predeceased by granddaughter, Annie Jean Harnish; brother, Ivan “Bud”; sister, Wavie.

Cremation has taken place.

In keeping with her wishes, there will be no funeral service.

Memorial donations may be made to Canadian Cancer Society.

Many thanks to family doctor, Dr. Meadows and the Palliative Care Unit of Colchester East Hants Health Centre for the care she received.

Parker Eugene Myers

Myers, Parker Eugene – It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Parker Eugene Myers, age 76 of East Chezzetcook, Nova Scotia on June 18, 2026.

Born in 1949 in Ship Harbour, Parker was a son of the late William and Thelma (Laybolt) Myers. He completed his high school education at Eastern Shore High School in Musquodoboit Harbour before attending Halifax Regional Vocational School, where he studied Mechanical Drafting.

During his college years, Parker's life changed forever when he crossed paths with a beautiful young woman on the corner of Oxford Street, a familiar face from his earlier school days. Fate brought them together and was just the beginning of Parker and Jean’s lifelong love story.

Parker loved tinkering, repairing, and creating, and his favourite place was his basement workshop, where he could often be found working on a project. He also had a lifelong passion for classic cars and was the proud owner of many over the years, including a Dodge Dart, Chevy Nova, and Ford Maverick, among others. However, the car he was most proud of was the first brand-new vehicle he ever purchased, a Gremlin Denim Edition fresh off the lot.

Those who knew Parker will remember his wonderful sense of humour, his quick wit, and his genuinely kind and caring heart. 

Parker is survived by his son, Jason; his granddaughter, Chantal; his daughter, Rhonda (Andre); and his granddaughters, Haylee and Zoey. He is also survived by his sister, Vivian (Carl) Kent; brothers, Wayne (Bertha) Myers and Leon (Billie) Myers; sisters-in-law, Shirley Myers and Donna Myers; and many cherished nieces and nephews.

Parker was predeceased by his beloved wife, Elizabeth “Jean” Myers; his father, William Myers; his mother, Thelma Myers; his stepmother, Lillian Myers; his sister, Delores (Carl) Stevens; and his brothers, Marshall Myers and Floyd Myers.

The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the compassionate staff of Moody Hall for the exceptional care, kindness, and support they provided to Parker during his time there.

Parker’s memory will live on in the stories shared, the laughter remembered, and the love he gave so freely to family and friends.

A Graveside ceremony will be held at a later date.

Sylvia Lorraine (Mosher) Budlanski

Budlanski, Sylvia Lorraine (Mosher) – Age 78, of Musquodoboit Harbour, passed away on June 17, 2026.

She was a daughter of the late Earl and Queenie (Gaetz) Mosher.

Sylvia is survived by her son, Frederick E. Budlanski.

She was predeceased by her husband, Frederick M. Budlanski and later in life, her good friend and companion, Barry Morse.

A graduate of Acadia in Education, she enjoyed a 35-year career of teaching at Queen Elizabeth High School.

Cremation has taken place under the direction of Arimathea Funeral Cooperative, Upper Musquodoboit.

In keeping with her wishes, there will be no funeral service.

Timothy "Tim" Henry Benjamin

A Celebration of Life for Timothy “Tim” Henry Benjamin will be held on Saturday, July 11 from 12:30-2:30 p.m. in Carrolls Corner Rec Hall. Gather with the family and share stories and photos. Casual dress. Light refreshments provided.

William "Bill" Gary Mackay

Mackay, William “Bill” Gary – age 69, passed away peacefully on June 7, 2026, surrounded by family in QEII, VG Site, Halifax. 

Bill was born in 1957 in Halifax.

Bill is predeceased by his wife, Bonny; brother, Brian; and his parents, John "William" Mackay and Theresa Virginia Butler. 

He is survived by his son, Matthew (Mellisa); grandchildren, Logan and Ashlynn; daughter, Tarra (Will); grandchildren, Tristan, Hunter, Bella and Axesoul; son, Gary (Patricia); grandchildren, William (Liam) and Payton; brothers, John (Gwen), Donnie (Cookie); sister, Debbie; along with several nieces and nephews.

Bill was a Royal Canadian Navy Veteran and served his country proudly for 17 years, followed by his second career with the Corp Commissionaires in Halifax. After semi retirement he enjoyed spending time with his prized most loyal cat, Punkin, hunting, fishing, collecting coins, bottles and other antiques. 

Cremation has taken place and will be followed by a graveside service and interment on June 18, 2026 at 2 p.m. in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Sackville, Nova Scotia, all are welcome.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in his name may be made to Heart and Stroke Foundation Canada.
